Ones of the reasons I like Pop, they install a recovery partition with a copy of the install USB, finally they have a ‘factory reset’ that reinstalls the OS while keeping the users home folders.
It’s so good on the steam deck, it barely drains the battery somehow.
You can try making a virtual machine with a 20 GB virtual hard drive to try out different Linux distros in the meantime.

This person made a pretty good video essay on the topic. They theorize among other things that its a sort of way to mentally prepare themselves in case they’re in the same situation.

12·2 years agoI was able to use this guys docker image and tool in order to cross compile my Rust programs in the past. They were very simple programs so I dont know how well it works for larger projects.
Its creating a function named : that spawns two copies of : then calls that function to start the duplicating code or forks. For that, its called a fork bomb.
They run them through QA at least and work directly with Nvidia to fix any issues they notice. They dont catch everything of course but its still good.
If you want to support Linux devs and continued development, I would buy from System76, Tuxedo Computers, or even Framework.
If you’re going to buy used then yeah the Thinkpad is fine.
C is bloat, thats why everyone should use Asm

3·2 years agoThe github page for websurfx says its a open source alternative to searx, and I never used searx before so I wasn’t aware of it being OSS but sorry for being your ocean of ignorance you can’t do anything about. Next time I won’t share anything to not offend.

1·2 years agoA raspberry pi doesn’t work for me. Far too little power. The server would print several ‘Couldn’t keep up’ messages then crash.




I found a thinkpad with a radeon GPU for only 200 which was nice.
