There different reasons for wanting privacy or advocating for for personal data privacy and implimenting strategies to support that.
If ever you are in trouble with the state or make the wrong person on the internet angry, the more you’ve publically shared the easier it will be for them to find something to use against you. So… you can try not to get on anybody’s bad side to limit that possibility or you can do your best to compartmentalize your online activities.
It should be possible to ask for help or show vuneralbility online without telling anybody (or thing) absolutely everything about you every time.

Find some place… as an example, hexbear’s instance has c/slop… to drop a link to the offending user’s comment or post and whatever happens… happens.
You’ve got the option of Reporting the post/comment to the moderators. Which will require you knowing the moderation rules of the community in question to take advantage of.
Short bullet point/talking point responses. Replies with things like, “This is racist/sexist/genocide denial/etc”, then disengage. You don’t need to get into a long drawn out comment war/debat bro situation.
Make fun of them for being a goober.

Went from salting our hashes to salting or posts
Probably not a good idea to phrase it as “earned” retractions.
It shouldn’t be a competition to see who is the worst.

Probably going to need to search for communities that prioritize privacy and use crypto currencies to keep their transactions private instead of searching for crypto currency communities directly.

Depends on the store.
Your non chain store that has a loyalty program, probably doesn’t have the interest or capital to pay some third party to manage the data collection and analysis to try to direct market things to you.
Worked at a co-op grocery store for a while. The “owners” could use their owner number to keep track of their purchases to count towards their patronage refund amount and it also allowed some limited ability to look at full transaction information to deal with misrings, returns without recipts, etc. in the decade that I worked there, there was no effort or interest (even though the people running the coop at the highest level were definitely “business goober” types) to try to use the info for direct marketing or to sell to a data broker.
Before Roblox there was this…

It would instantly de-fed from all the cool people, all the shitty leminitors probably would be reabsorbed back into fed-Reddit and those Reddit clone lemmy comms would die.

I’d say its time to disengage from the conversation.
Having the conversations and sticking to your points is good and all but they didn’t come to their opinions based on “facts and logic” so you’re not going to facts and logic them into a different opinion.
Possibly try to pay attention to when your friend has gotten to the point in the conversation that they’ve effectively shut down and wind down the conversation when it gets to that point. Talk about something else, everybody goes outside and touches grass, or just call it a day.

Misread the post title, thought everybody jumped and left you all alone.
Not sure which was first , the Atari 1600(?) PAC-Man or Pole Position.

Self defense is self defense, would we expect some different behavior from a country being attacked from outside interests with publicly accessible end to end encryption services?

blocks appear to be part of a crackdown on internal dissent in both countries.
Or… you know… at least for Venezuela, the USA constantly fucking around with their elections and politics and local assets using Signal or something. Maybe, I dunno?
As an individual, you’re mostly just stuck with “symbolic solidarity”.
Ideally you would have prepared beforehand and talked with your fellow employees. Hopefully, as a group, you all would decide to take part in the general strike with some prepared talking points and statements to be made to your employer/customers/local media.
Ideally, on such a large scale, the impact could be in the “All of them combined” category.
