Further, Microsoft has a support queue specifically for requesting removal if you can produce purchasing paperwork
… Not that anyone with technical chops should care. This will only ever impact you at OOBE, which is easily bypassed

Shitty, but they addressed the issue within 24hr, notified impacted users, and published a sitrep. They handled it extremely well imo, but also you could disable the cloud connection if it concerns you

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft is adding a new key to PC keyboards for the first time since 1994English
6·2 years agoI was going to say, currently working in K12 & this key would be a nightmare for us. We definitely can’t pay Microsoft’s minimums - disabling/remapping the key wouldn’t be hard, but it’s obnoxious it becomes a priority.
Not surprised, but exceptionally lame.
Yeah, unfortunately im prepared for that being the reality :(
I might go feral if they don’t release on PC at launch. This looks INCREDIBLE, they’ve knocked it out of the park.
They confirmed you can’t swap the screen, but if you want a rebate on the purchase price difference hit up Support

2·2 years agoHonestly, a massive one for me is not letting myself get angry at a game I can’t hope to understand or master at a highly competitive level. I do a lot better at recognizing these days when I am intellectually or physically incapable of getting better quickly at a game - my mind shifts these activities outside of a competitive mindset and more to a leisure mindset.
When I’m not trying to actively compete against others to a point of pride, suddenly I’m a lot more receptive to incremental growth at my own pace

1·2 years agoLike any computer, Chromebook hardware sucks if you’re buying entry level sub-$500 devices. The reputation for shitty hardware is generally from people who have only used entry level devices
