Have you seen this? Green screen on crack.

You can’t ask good questions on Lemmy without getting someone to respond with a genuinely informative answer (if they see it, even days later)
We need to increase the weirdo pool a bit more though so the questions get seen.
I don’t really care about downvotes, but those of you doing so… you might want to actually look into the research behind it. I picked a couple of random links for it because there’s literally nothing special about any of it, along with an NIH article about brown fat recruitment. The science is solid. It’s not a magic bullet; it’s not a replacement for healthy eating or real exercise; it does work for raw calorie burning and for making your body system more efficient at staying warm through calorie burning long term. That’s what our bodies are made to do. It’s a great calorie balancing supplement with very little actual effort.
Shivering is a great easy way to burn calories, and increase the rate you burn calories later through beige fat recruitment.
This should NOT be used to replace healthy eating or proper exercise, but shivering burns gobs of calories to produce heat, and the brown fat (located mostly in your back around neck and shoulders, used just for producing heat from fat) recruits surrounding white fat and transforms it into beige fat (basically converts normal fat into leaky heat-generating fat) to increase the heat generation, and thus calorie burn, of subsequent shivers.
Here’s some links about it, if you are interested. It may not be actionable in the summer, but if you have a basement floor you can lay on, a tub of cold water, or access to a walk in freezer, you can get a healthy shiver going any time.

This is really catchy and upbeat :)

Are you also upset when they do a donation drive and have a pre-article header literally asking for money?

Ngl, the more this happens the more servicers are confused about what they should be collecting and from whom, and that’s actually a win for the borrowers (not as much of a win as this shit going through but still).
For example, due to the slew of challenges, I’m still on $0 repayment through October and don’t even have to certify income for that. And who knows if they will actually move forward with resuming charges for it; this is the second time it’s been delayed for me.
I hope the system does get thrown into complete chaos if it doesn’t all get forgiven or at least restructured. That would be better than people having to pay for worthless and/or overpriced degrees, and not being able to do shit with their lives.

Normally I’m not a fan of transparent background scrolling content (it’s obnoxious and a waste of space) but the little car was a cute touch. Entirely unnecessary, but cute.

I have a collection of over 80k ebooks. I got most of them in huge download packs decades ago, and removed duplicates. it’s a surprisingly small folder.
I did the math on it long ago and it would take more than 200 years, reading an average of one full book a day, every day, to get through them all.
So I’m happy just knowing that if I get through some of them, it’s better than none of them. Time is limited, make the most of it by doing what sparks joy, and not worrying about what you didn’t get to.

Lawyers say these policies violate Amendment A, which was approved by Colorado voters in 2018 and bans the state from “engaging in slavery or involuntary servitude” under any circumstances.
Valerie Collins, an attorney from Towards Justice, said the case isn’t about prohibiting all prison labor.
“All our clients are demanding is that the state stops forcing people to work,” she said, in a statement. “The state could remedy these constitutional violations today if it wanted to.”
Idk kinda sounds like they do.
You absolutely must, if you own such a gem, refer to it as the peamobile. Both because it is gloriously whimsical, perfectly matching the aesthetic of the vehicle, and because it just sounds fun in that funny innuendo sort of way.

And a little light ball, like a reflection off a watch face, that sometimes appears that just randomly moves around and, importantly, can be “caught” (as in has a physical presence, sometimes).
What I don’t get is how anyone can sleep with anything other than blackout curtains. Even the ambient light from street lights and stuff is too bright for me.
I mean I know people do it, I just don’t understand how.

I got a full set of silverware for backpacking that collapses down to about the size of those folding reader glasses (plus a little hard storage case just like the glasses). It’s a spoon, fork, knife, and chopsticks. I think I paid $6 for the set. Not super high quality, since the focus was on weight and utility, but definitely does the job.
I don’t use it much anymore, but it was great for lunch at work, and is good when traveling (staying at hotels and getting takeout - no plastic trash!). I mostly keep it in my overnight backpack so it’s available whenever I’m not home and I can’t forget it.
Idk how actionable this would be for you, it probably depends what specific articles of clothing and in what style you are expected to wear, but are you able to buy any stretch fabric sort of shirts?
I personally can’t wear “normal” non-stretch clothing because it’s far too restrictive for my own comfort (autist), and find that permanent press fabrics do a great job of being more forgiving, largely because of the stretch portion of the fabric blend that prevents wrinkles. There’s a surprising amount of women’s clothing that meets my stretch requirement, and still looks professional. But I do most of my shopping at thrift stores because my needs are super specific, so I can’t give you any brands or anything, I’m sorry.
That might be another community to ask, though - autistic folks often have specific clothing restrictions, for the sake of existing without that distraction, that might help you find something appropriate for your needs. :)

Keep in mind that all of these could be more or less stopped if there was any real desire to do so.
But there isn’t.
I tracked down the house I lived in until I was 5-6. I have lots of pictures of it in its glory and I remember it fondly.
It was an old 1800s school building that my parents converted into a house. Very cool building, lots of old-school charm (hehe).
Finding it was a huge mistake. The present owners don’t even live in it, they built a house just to the side of it and use the old structure as support for solar panels, and probably storage for the junk sprawling over the property. Which… I’m down with solar but it’s so sad to see something with so much history, charm, and character… absolutely ruined in under 30 years.

They do, you aren’t wrong, but I’m not remotely the right person to post this stuff there since I’ve never even visted the community and don’t care about men’s (or any) fashion. Beyond like… wanting some more interesting options as eye candy…
So by all means, have at _
Here are the URLs from which I grabbed the images. Do with them as you like, but it’s not a topic I’m qualified to post about (I have the style of… well I haven’t.), nor have interest in posting about, so please do enjoy! Take all the warm fuzzy upvotes for yourself! I have no need :) but that style is still chef kiss. And also skirts are comfy af.

I can’t find the third pic so here’s some bonus pics that I’m into instead! Maybe you’ll also like them! Idk!

Oh… umm… well have a good time with that, I guess… 👍
“But it’s not my favorite way! I can’t go that way!”
I’ll take exits to who knows where to avoid traffic even if sitting in it is technically faster. Every time the highway gets shut down for a snow-related accident, my adventure gene lights up and we go exploring the back country. It’s never fun, but it beats sitting in traffic, and it’s never as bad as the time I got stuck on the highway in a blizzard and was stuck at 15mph for a normally 2-hour-70-mph drive that took me some 5-7 hrs to complete… the next morning I took a perfect imprint of my license plate off the ice covering my car. Kept that in my freezer in a box for a couple years until sublimation made it unreadable.
