  • So, did I understood correctly that just getting pixel with GrapheneOS is way out?

I can’t really say anything about that, sorry. I’m not familiar with GrapheneOS or Google Pixel. As far as I know, Play Services can apparently be installed in a sandbox?.. but I didn’t quite get it either. So I can’t say whether the system will be affected by Google’s rules. Sorry I can’t help further.

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts so openly. Sorry my message came off as “low energy” to you. But to me, it still holds up logically. Google makes money mostly from ads and our data. The more people boycott their products, the less funding goes to things like Project Nimbus. De-googled setups, a phone, an app, a browser, give me hope. This isn’t just about privacy for me, it’s about human rights! And i hope ther will coming more Alternatives.

Again: Thanks for sharing your openion so openly.

  • You make a good point. And its so true. I know a lot of people who also dont care about Google Problems.

I’m just familiar with /e/OS so far. I’ve disabled microG and don’t use a single Google app. But I can’t judge the people who using it. The problem is really the ecosystem. Many companies build on Google, which means they’re not independent. The End result is : There are no real alternatives. So people only know Google and nothing else

  • Hey. I’m trying to see everything positively though. I know its sucks, and im angry too. But how secure can a Google-certified device be AGAINST GOOGLE anyway? I could only deactivate the systems, which is why I wanted to buy an /e/OS device. And the news from F-Droid that Google was going to pull this shit was the kick in the ass I needed to finally buy a Fairphone with /e/OS.

  • I believe you may mean Darth Vader…

😅You’re right. Thanks for the correction!

You have a good point. I also know many of people who have no clue about this. I talked a lot about this but they dont care. Anyway for me, every setback, even if it’s just a brief blip for Google is a triumph. Of course , a longer triumph will be great, but yeah… that is just my openion. And thanks again, for the Darth Vader Correction 👍🏻

  • Thank you for getting back to me. 🌹 I truly believe that many people feel this way. Tragic things happen in life. Believe me, I speak from experience too. Sometimes we walk a certain path, and something terrible happens to us. We wonder, ‘Why did this happen?’ But we’ll never know what would have happened if we had chosen the other path. Perhaps something terrible had to occur to protect us from something even worse. I know this might sound like making excuses sometimes, but I genuinely believe this. And there have been small incidents where I felt this was confirmed.

The fact that you believe God would not love you is, to me, a sign that you still believe in Him😊 and that is something good. Whatever you have experienced in life, or whatever you are going through right now, I wish you strength and all the best. I hope that soon everything will turn around for the better. I will pray for you. I know this sounds clichéd, but I truly mean it. You can always reach out to me whenever you want. Peace be with you. 🕊️🌹

  • Peace be upon you!🌹

I come from Germany, and at my school, we had English and Turkish. Since you’re about to start learning German, I’ll give you a little heads-up. Watch out for: „der, die, das"! 😂😂😂 Even real Germans sometimes struggle with getting it right!

The USA has just on article „THE" but Germany has three. The positiv thing : Many words in German sound exactly the same like “Hello = Hallo” so that makes things a bit easier.

Good luck with your studies! 😊😊

  • Peace be upon you. 🌹 As one of those religious people, I can simply say: “No.” 😁

We deeply religious people (whether Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, or others) simply believe that everything happens through God’s will. However, this does not mean that free will doesn’t exist. You will be rewarded solely for your hard work, Inshallah, because that is your own merit.

You should just keep in mind that the phrase “you should thank God for giving you so much strength” is actually a compliment. It means “God loves you”

Of course, it also depends on how the person expresses this words 😅, but it is something beautiful.

    Peace be upon you all🌹🌹🌹

Thanks for explaining! Honestly, I’m not familiar with political labels like ‘left’ or ‘liberal’. I actually had to look them up before replying 😅. So I’m not sure where I fit in.

For me, data privacy is just about being practical and ethical. I hate it when big corps like Google use my data for things I can’t control, like military projects. It makes me angry, when they turn a tiny mosquito into a weapon. I see that happening with AI too. I’m against that.

I don’t know if that makes me ‘left’ or 'liberal’😅. My goal on forums like Lemmy is simply to find like-minded people, who share this ethical approach and to make friends there😊. Thats it.
