That’s my go to but another great lineup would be Slipknot, Mudvayne, and Static X/Drowning Pool.

Technology@lemmy.world•Nearly 25,000 tech workers were laid off in the first weeks of 2024. Why is that?English
101·2 years agoI think another thing that isn’t being talked about with these layoffs, which would call for more unionization and policy making, is that “AI” is taking over these jobs.
Also when companies merge, there are “redundant” employees. So like the recent Microsoft layoffs, those were going to happen.

523·2 years agoI know a few schools in my area tried to institute zero tolerance no phones rule and the screaming from parents was loud enough that they gave up. One of the big sticking points was because of school shootings. Another was that schools have been bad about getting kids on the bus, that kids are getting lost or even ending up in bus depots at the end of the day.

World News@lemmy.world•US Pedestrian deaths rose a troubling 77% between 2010 and 2021.English
171·2 years agoSomething I’ve thought about recently that I don’t think gets mentioned enough is the raising of speed limits across the board. You have a car centric infrastructure operating along neglected (and sometimes non-existent) pedestrian paths and the speed limits keep going higher.

201·2 years agoIt’s written in the Nitter link but Poland wanted the backing of the US in the event Russia would attack Poland. They wanted it to be an “Allied” decision as opposed to just a Polish decision.
Second this. After you’ve achieved this, start working your way to getting your palms on the ground. Just keep stretching

Technology@lemmy.world•New research shows renewables are more profitable than nuclear powerEnglish
52·2 years agoThe one I’m interested in is the “mini” reactors. They can build them in a fraction of the time. And from what I’ve read they appear to generally be “safer”, but it’s always hard to tell with all the bullshit we all get peddled.
I’m all for renewables and had hoped they’d have been more implemented by now, but here we are…
Isn’t sales in general down across most sectors? This is them placing blame somewhere it really doesn’t belong. Did some bigots decide not to shop there? Maybe. But most of those people didn’t shop there anyways. Walmarts dominate the areas and is the go to for those people.

Hey no worries. I understand completely and had a not too dissimilar upbringing. Good on you!
This may help you understand a bit more. https://youtu.be/43cuU0lP6To
The same can be said for an impact driver. Another benefit being that it’s extremely easy to use. I work in the trades, and for most everyone, the drill only comes out for specialty tasks where it serves better. Otherwise the impact driver is the daily do-all tool. Usually lighter in weight, and less cumbersome as well.
Edit: forgot to add that the impact driver also takes up less real estate and can fit in places most drills can’t.
Is there a specific DIY project in your near future you think you would use it for? If not, I wouldn’t recommend getting one and just have it sitting there. It would just be money best spent anywhere else.
Also, by drill do you mean an impact driver, drill, or drill with the hammer drill function? For home DIY, I find that having an impact driver, with a good set of impact ready drill bits and a variety of screw tips to be more useful than just a drill.

And the time commitment. I have been having to work more time than ever before just to maintain. I would love to have a dog but I know I don’t have the time to properly care for one
