I’m soooo fucking glad for this question. I’ve been using thumbkey for like a year, after I got fed up using a normal keyboard. It’s sooo convenient I feel like I make a lot less typos using it and sometimes I can even type without lookin at my screen

That’s so adorably fucked up
Clavicles are unironically fucking sexy though
I’m reading The Farseer Trilogy right now and this fits the mc painfully well. It’s really heartbreaking seeing him do what he believes is right despite everything else going on in his life
From this, we can infer that twinks were obviously a central part of the Roman conception of the world around them
I agree with you, it’s depressing that they were in this position in the first place. I guess what I’m trying to say is that even though the connection was imaginary and even though this might be better for them in the long run, as far they’re concerned they just lost somebody important. But yeah, the fact they got so attached in the first is the real tragedy
I do agree with them that stealing may not be the right word, isn’t plagiarism more accurate? But plagiarism is generally considered theft so it probably doesn’t matter. I just found it really interesting that I personally haven’t really given much thought to the semantics of theft when no physical object is involved even though it’s been discussed for like centuries atp
This is honestly no heartbreaking. Regardless of what anybody thinks, this people are genuinely mourning what could be the closest they’ve had to a human connection in years. I don’t what the solution is for vulnerable and lonely people like this, but it really is so sad
EDIT: after reading rayquetzatl’s comment, I’m just more fucking mad at AI companies
Why is nobody talking about how
marauding black death wrapped in a spherical gradient of tortured spacetime
is such a fucking cool sentence

I absolutely love the font though
I do wonder how many people got their first spark in making music through these recorder classes. I figured that’d be the main purpose, introduce kids to a form of art they might later develop a passion for, which would make it pretty much ineffective as I believe most people passionate about music didn’t catch if from recorders.
But apparently, it’s to teach kids how to read music which makes a lot more sense now that I think about it but still feels like something some English guy decided was part of a well-rounded education and nobody’s bothered to question it since.
I’m not saying that reading music isn’t important or anything just that it’s use is probably much more limited to professional spaces since the advent of recording devices, music notation is still pretty kick-ass though and I see why someone would still want it as part of the curriculum.
Personally, I think it’d be really fun if music classes could use apps like GarageBand or something- that way you could use whichever instrument you prefer and also play around with things like pitch and stuff so it’d have this sense of exploration. But, even aside from cost concerns there’s already issues with how digitized educations so I’m not sure taking away analog instruments is really the best idea

(so(its(lisp(then))))
what are your opinions on the newer lisp-like languages (clojure, janet, e.t.c)?I’ve heard people say they aren’t real LISPs cause they don’t reduce to cons cells, feels like a pontless distinction to me but I could be missing something.
yay, now I have another tool for my compulsive song categorisation. Am I the only who gets confused by metal genres? Feels like all the bands I listen to are either classified as: metalcore, prog metal or both. And what about alt-metal, is that like another name for prog?
That’s pretty fucking neat
Holy Shit, that must have been gnarly. What was it even used for? Did they at least allow you to define helper functions?
The first time LinkedLists clicked for me was almost magical. I was reading Skiena’s Algorithm Manual and that was honestly the best possible introduction
Isn’t it? It’s so simple but I also like the curly-brace shorthand C-like languages use.
