I remember a website circa year 2000 that detailed (with pictures) how to install and remove a turbo on a minivan. The stated purpose was to rent a minivan, then flog the shit out of the engine for the weekend.
I have a hot van, but need a new motor, the current one is barely warm.

I feel the tent thing on the top is a bit of a waste diagnol. why not have the whole square?
I think it was to get around a patent in the US originally, but it also works fine for sleeping, and makes folding in the material as you close it a bit easier. Also the beds are in the way of the short side, so you get full standing height in the middle where you need it.
I think vans should be hotter. I’ve actually gotten as many comments about my Transit Connect as I have about my Focus ST.
A Mazdaspeed5 could be fun.
Real or hypothetical vans I’d like to have:
- Mazdaspeed 5
- manual, AWD, supercharged Toyota Previa (all that stuff was available, but never in the same vehicle)
- Mercedes R63 AMG
- VW ID.Buzz *

Except that it has the same telemetry problem as every other new car, which is a deal-breaker that completely ruins it.

Make your own Previa
Someone made a Transit Connect with a Focus ST drivetrain: https://fordauthority.com/2026/04/2014-ford-transit-connect-with-focus-st-powertrain-resurfaces-after-three-years/
