We are well aware that sooner or later we’re going to have our own version of Russia fixing for an actual fight. I wouldn’t be surprised if right now, our military has started pumping out drones with Ukrainian knowledge and assistance so we can stockpile them.

The deal probably went something like, Ukraine teaches them how to build effective drones. Canada builds and funds the building (at least partially) for both countries. For every drone they buy/build for Ukraine, they build one for their own stockpile.

It’s happening eventually unless the pedo-in-chief strokes out first and an actual adult takes the helm down there. We all know it.

I was hoping we’d go back to our perogies and cabbage rolls pact but drones and defense is the next best thing! Hoping for a free and independent Ukraine in the very near future!

How easy it is to forget that Ukraine was a nuclear power. And I don’t mean just that it had nuclear weapons, but that it was instrumental in Russia’s entry into the nuclear game. Ukrainian physicists in Ukrainian physics institutes independently came up with knowledge that was crucial to the nuclear game. In many ways, Ukraine was the seat of much of the USSR’s advances in physics.

Now, they are devoting that intellectual resource to help Ukraine prosper, not the USSR.

They are a phenomenally intellectually advanced country that Canadian Universities will do well to partner with.

Excellent partnership, these will be battle field tested and iterated drones and anti-drone equipment, which both nations need badly.

As. Canadian that headline makes me smile. I hope we can support them from any aggression, like both Russia and US was supposed to from signed agreements when they gave up their nukes. Anything from either aggressor is signed in pencil as we all know…maybe crayon depending on leader competence.

Also will help us Canadians to learn such drone knowledge and tactics (if not outward but by design on how to use them) when our neighbors decide they’re getting bored. Okay maybe Russia doesn’t technically border us but may as well these days.

What equivalency do you think is being drawn here, exactly? Y’all just use terms you see online like they mean anything to you.

What a bold stance, lol. It actually makes more sense that you guys are pissed about this if that’s the reading. So self-righteous to think that isn’t already expected of you.

          ???

It’s almost like you guys were real proud about having some white people victimized.

It seems like my stance should be surprising to you. You were making some awfully broad generalizations as to why one might support another people’s right to self defence.

Oh, is that so? Look up my post history and this community’s response to my support of colonized peoples; you guys don’t hide it well. Wonder why you mentioned the specific instances you did and not others.

I’m not a representative of the /c/Canada community. Just a single commentator. The reason you are levelling your accusations against an invented collective character is because you are looking to be combative but my position is principled so you can’t argue with it directly.

You’re right, you can voice it however you want.

You’re not a victim, people are calling out your nonsense attitude because they are embarrassed on your behalf.

See, it’d be better if you guys just dropped the pretense and started yelling slurs like you know you want to. “Oh you’re hysterical you’re embarrassing.” Bud, there’s people on here who say that shit when I say Canada is genocidal, don’t act like y’all get embarrassed.

There’s a whole lot of anger there, I’m not your enemy - but I do have different views.

I don’t think Carney is a social or environmental advocate, and I agree that this cabinet is doing some lasting damage. However, the only viable alternate (PP) is a Trump sycophant. Whatever your arguments with Carney - and I agree there are many - he is the best available counter to the dickhead down south.

Unless and until NDP becomes a viable third party, and assuming PP continues as the pariah he is today, Carney will keep my vote.

In what world do you have only one option and you don’t choose to work at making it better? It’s such an obviously privileged “stance.” Why are you even commenting if you don’t believe in criticism?

Also, the mild gaslighting about being “angry.” You’re goddamn right. Someone has to have a spine here, and clearly you didn’t grow up around people killed by men like this. Otherwise, you’d give a shit about people cheering this nonsense on while the direct cost is in lives of innocent people downriver from a mine or downwind from a farm. This isn’t some fucking victory, it’s a play to fool privileged libs.

How many democracies have battle hardened drone tech we can partner with?

I’m not interested in helping whatever bullshit authoritarians that tankies have been scammed into thinking are cool. The democracies of the world have to work together against the authoritarians of the world.
