“You can’t prove it DOESN’T work.”

FYI there is only two suppliers of carrots in the U.S.: Grimmway and Bolthouse.

    This one is Grimmway.

So if you have organic carrots, double check on this one.

There’s a full list of affected brands for both baby carrots and whole carrots here:

    https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/grimmway-farms-recalls-organic-whole-and-select-organic-baby-carrots-may-be-consumers-homes-due

It looks like aldi may be affected, and I just bought baby carrots from aldi 😅

But I thought ‘organic’ produce was the magic, ultra safe produce that makes you super healthy and live forever? No, sorry, it’s just very expensive, and it spoils faster.

If your organic produce is spoiling quicker it’s probably because it’s not being grown locally and has spent more time in transit than the regular produce; spraying pesticides or using synthetic fertilizer doesn’t really add any preservative properties.

Organic or regular produce from the farmer’s market will beat anything in a supermarket. Alas, it’s a fucking pain in the ass to get to one here and it’s not the cheapest.

Fun fact: organic growers use pesticides. And the food is no healthier.

Not all organic growers use pesticides.

The reason you buy organic is for the health of the farmworkers and the environment, its not a selfish decision for the consumer’s own health

Fun fact: Organic production is worse for the environment overall.

It’s less damaging per hectare under cultivation, but more hectares are required to produce the same yield. So it’s more damaging per kg of production.
