Because it’s a popularity contest where name recognition is a huge factor. I swear it’s like some people want to lose.

ABC was covering it like it was a football game. “Incredible performance from the US military”, “Flawless victory over the Venezuelans”, “Impressive display of professionalism from the troops”
Makes me sick.

Americans clearly need to touch the stove and get burned before they understand what they’ve unleashed. It’s regrettable but saving them from the consequences of their political decisions might be worse in the long term. We’re at this horrendous point where things will have to get worse before they have a chance of getting better.

He thinks everyone of prominence takes their cues from cable TV when in reality it’s just him. The constant projection from this disturbed imbecile is getting tiring.

Oh no, Canada doesn’t get to negotiate with the most dishonest and malicious administration in US history. What a terrible loss. I’m sure there was going to be a major breakthrough any minute now if not for this. Fucking loser.

Redwall by Brian Jacques. Introduced me to so many things like the fantasy genre, multi-book series, deep worldbuilding, archetypal races and probably way more. The food descriptions also stand out in my memory.
Haven’t gone back to see how it stands up but I highly recommend it for kids whose reading level is improving and want to move up a tier in length/difficulty.

Being evil is brutal in BG3. They have you go through turn-based combat to murder defenseless civilians, party members are totally broken by the actions they took and openly hate you, and the party members that stay comment on how much of a backstabbing bastard you are.
It’s nothing like a campy, fun Mass Effect renegade playthrough. Kinda depressing honestly.

A literal death cult fueled by insatiable greed. They won’t stop until we’re swimming in pollution in 50°C+ summers of constant wildfires
Elections have always been popularity contests, what are you even talking about? It’s about finding a prominent figure that has a strong, and hopefully benign, vision for the country and to raise that person as a figurehead.
That they come from pop culture in the US now is just a reflection of the collapse of their civic space. You still need to find a viable path to victory, and wishing we were in a different era will only prevent adaptation to the new reality.
