i just don’t like how it keeps so many trappings of traditional protestant church services, i mean i know why to attract more people since that is the dominant cultural force but just doesn’t sit right with me to ruminate over the bible and pretend it is some enlightened tome of truth in a supposedly secular context

it’s been a few decades since i last read it but iirc the arms are small degenerate arms that can’t really do much except maybe operate a lasgun but by that point he didn’t really need to do much as he has a private army of fish speakers and his own desert compound within the terrafrormed arrakis

yes Roth is not free you pay taxes when you convert as income vs paying taxes later after you retire for traditional 401k typically most people take far less income in retirement so you tend to be in a lower bracket than your earning years so deferring tax makes sense but nobody can tell you for certain how much taxes will be in the future or how productive the markets will be so ultimately it’s all a guessing game
