if i was a guy, i most likely would’ve just keep the name they gave me as a baby. personally, i gave a fair bit of thought to choosing my name, there wasn’t some natural, percect choice that just fell into my brain out of the aether, but ymmv

it’s been a long time since i looked at brainfuck, but i suspect that ‘+’ denotes an increment, and ‘-’ denotes a decrement, so we’ve got one decrement and 20 increments.

is this ‘glow in the dark’ like i’m radioactive and constantly glow a little bit, or is this ‘glow in the dark’ like i absorb a little bit of light and slowly re-emit it, so if i wait long enough in darkness i’ll stop glowing?
1946 to 1964 is exactly the range of birth years traditionally assigned to ‘baby boomers’. anyone older or younger isn’t a boomer at all.
that is definitely not perl.
i almost bought that book a couple months ago at a local bookshop!

good advice about buses. i chased after a bus once. i tripped, twisted my ankle, damaged my clothing, and scraped the hell out of my left wrist, elbow, and shoulder. still got a scar from it. everyone on the bus saw, and the bus driver waited for me as i limped up to the next stop.
yep. in 2 dimensions, nobody really debates on whether x or y should point up, so i kinda think the debate about z stems from whether one thinks we should put the xy plane horizontally (like a sheet of paper on a desk), or vertically (like a chalkboard).
does any software default to making x be the vertical axis?
the trick, i’d imagine, is to be rich enough that you don’t have to deal with doing your own chores or errands (let the servants get groceries and cook and clean and drive you places).
mostly just the one boomer, actually.
is there a joke in this one? could you explain it?
i haven’t heard of any place on lemmy restricting one’s ability to post based on your vote total, but i’d never encountered it during my many years on reddit, either.
if you get a lot of downvotes, and someone is sorting by “top” or “hot”, your post or comment will be further down the list though, and vice versa for upvotes. (though personally, i almost always sort by “new” on lemmy, or sometimes, “new comments”.)

i never played return to arms, but same. i think my brother ended up with our copy of CoN, but i should see if the local retro game shop has a copy.
they mattered on reddit? how?

i don’t think this is, or ever has been, a thing.

two that i remember quite fondly for their co-op gameplay were X-men Legends, and Champions of Norrath.

most of the resident evils work well as standalones. the only ones i’d say are really proper sequels are 3 (play 2 first) and 8 (play 7 first). there’s some throughlines in terms of characters beyond that, but not really anything plotwise that you’d miss out by having missed the rest of the franchise.
we don’t really have any way of knowing for sure if people are conscious.
