there are so many more of us than them. If this is the path they truly want to go down, they won’t like how it ends

even better is the open weight, free models you can tailor to specific needs, which directly undercuts these massive “ai” companies.
So if/when those hikes happen, those self hosted models are going to look a lot more appetizing too
I really want to do the same after years of working in the field and watching it become more and more miserable, but financially I can’t really make the leap to starting my own business yet.
As the years go by I keep learning more and more from organizational practices:
trying to keep track of the lessons learned, hoping one day I can make the jump, or at least jump on board with a like minded team
I’m sorry for your situation. Other comments have pointed out that legally you don’t have to comply with the “no side job” bs, so i agree to keep proceeding with it, and if they try to fire you, bring in the lawyers.
On another note, stories like yours are why I want to watch the entire system burn, using executives as fuel for the fire.
Better to resist and flip the bird to these asshats rather than comply in advance.
Good luck to you, keep fighting, and never give up, if only to spite the bastards

they should have their heads “off” too

oppression breeds rebellion

corpo dems gonna corpo

Can this fucker and all his lackies just drop dead already? holy shit, so stupid, and so evil, it boggles the mind

at the very least don’t use it for the the most visibly apparent components of a game. Having it stub out scaffolding for underlying systems in the code is one thing, using it for visual assets is just dumb

yeah because the feds have shown so much reverence for the rule of law. Fuck em

very reasonable take. I work in games and some companies just use telemetry to keep activity logs sorted into neat buckets for the purpose of debugging, or recognizing patterns that lead to issues. Other’s will use it excessively, with a heavy focus on marketing and store fronts and use that to shovel more product to a consooomer (which I hate).
It’s a very useful tool though for debugging when used properly.

main reason I will keep using it as my main browser

this is for its sequel at least, not sure about the original though https://github.com/SolarCookies/TiP-Recomp
The pc version he is talking about relies on games for windows live, so i dont think it is in legal circulation anymore, and you need to jump through some hoops to run it that way
eventual? it’s here dude. Roving ICE (SS) patrols, people snatched up and thrown into god knows where, human rights abuses, ignoring our literal constitution and bill of rights. Soon enough they’ll start emptying our accounts of money if we speak out against them
